Bongeziwe Mabandla’s trio of shows to launch his critically acclaimed new album, amaXesha, are sold out.
The June 15th Johannesburg show will be at The Nest in New Doornfontein – its welcoming and warm atmosphere and rooftop area with views of the surrounding cityscape providing a wonderful context for Thursday’s show.
Mabandla’s two Cape Town concerts take place at The Terrace Rooftop – one of the city’s best rooftop venues – on June 16th and 17th.
Performing together with his producer and creative collaborator, Tiago Correia-Paulo, Mabandla’s recent run of UK and European shows have drawn rapturous audiences, with critics noting that these are likely to be the last opportunity to see this globally ascendant artist in such intimate settings.
Mabandla’s trio of shows in Cape Town and Johannesburg provide the first opportunity for music lovers in these two cities to see songs off amaXesha being played live since the album was released in May. Ticket purchasers have been able to pre-buy a vinyl copy of amaXesha and collect it on the night of the show they will be attending.
