DJ Lag Celebrates “Ngyasindelwa” Gold Certification

DJ Lag’s “Ngyasindelwa” has officially achieved Gold certification from the Recording Industry of South Africa (RISA).

The track features South African vocalist Zee Nxumalo and producer K.C Driller. It appears on Lag’s Southside mixtape, which has surpassed 10 million streams across platforms.

Released as part of Southside, “Ngyasindelwa” quickly became one of the project’s standout tracks. Its infectious energy helped establish it as a major Gqom hit. The track also became a defining sound of the festive season, with strong support from fans, radio and digital platforms.

The song’s official music video has also continued to grow. It has now surpassed 3.4 million views, further reflecting the track’s reach and lasting appeal.

“Ngyasindelwa” has made an impact across South African radio as well. The track has received support from major stations, including Ukhozi FM, Gagasi FM, YFM, Tru FM and YOU FM. It has also appeared on several Spotify charts, including the South African Viral Chart and Durban Charts.

The track’s success has earned further industry recognition. Lag received a Metro FM Music Awards nomination for Best Kwaito/Gqom for “Ngyasindelwa”. The nomination followed his previous nod in the same category for “Hade Boss”.

The latest achievement adds to Lag’s history at the South African Music Awards. He won Best Gqom Album for Meeting with the King. He was also nominated for Best Gqom Album for The Rebellion in 2025 and Southside Mixtape in 2026.

With its Gold certification, “Ngyasindelwa” marks another major milestone for the Durban-born Gqom pioneer. The achievement also highlights the continued reach of his sound, both locally and internationally.
