The story of Ndingubani continues with Bongeziwe Mabandla releasing two new visuals from the album. The first, for the title track “Ndingubani”, arrived on 16 September, marking three months since the album’s release. He follows this with a visual for “Makuyiwe”, the album’s closing track, arriving on 25 September.
Meaning “Who am I?” in isiXhosa, Ndingubani opens the album with a reflection on identity, self-discovery and the experiences that shape who we become. The visual mirrors this emotional depth, featuring Bongeziwe with a veil flowing over his head as he moves with the wind. It creates a sense of movement and vulnerability, reflecting the introspective nature of the song.
“Makuyiwe” brings the album’s journey to a close with a reflection on purpose and calling. The song speaks to the courage it takes to pursue what you believe you are meant to do, even when the road ahead demands sacrifice.
Set in Bongeziwe’s home province, the visual brings this story back to his roots. Filmed around a traditional homestead, it reflects his humble beginnings and the journey from where he started to the person he continues to become. At its heart is the determination to hold onto a dream, even when life throws obstacles in the way.
Together, the two visuals add new dimensions to Ndingubani, bringing its themes of identity, purpose and personal growth into focus through Bongeziwe’s visual storytelling.
