Bokani Dyer’s Kalakuta has been nominated as the title track for Best Artiste, Duo or Group in African Jazz for the All Africa Music Awards 2021.
AFRIMA is a combined effort by music professionals across the continent aimed at celebrating the rich musical heritage of African continent.
South African pop duo Blaq Diamond lead the nominations with eight nominations, Fellow South African act Focalistic secured seven nominations, while Nigeria’s Wizkid follows closely with six nominations.
Thandi Ntuli and Zoe Modiga are both nominated alongside Bokani Dyer for Best Artiste in African Jazz.
“We believe we gave Africans and the world the very best nominations and songs in line with the 8 880 songs received under the year in review,” Hadja Kobele, a member of the 13-member AFRIMAs international jury, said.
