The Joy London

The Joy sell out their first ever headline show

July 11th marked the day that The Joy sold out their first headline show in the UK!

This milestone was reached when the quintet from Hammarsdale in Kwa-Zulu Natal performed at The Old Church Stoke Newington in London to a capacity audience. It follows on from a slate of UK based shows, including The Great Escape, Love Supreme and Soho House festivals, as well as supporting Young Fathers at Somerset House. The Joy additionally performed their song “Isencane Lengane” for the BBC while at Glastonbury 2023.

In June The Joy released their latest single “Heartbreaker”. The track was co-written with MNEK who reached out to the band’s producer Two Inch Punch (Kali Uchis, Jessie Ware, Years & Years) about working together. On a trip to London they got together at September’s Studio and wrote “Heartbreaker” during a two week writing session.
The track follows on from the recently released singles “Mountain” and “Umona”, all taken from their six-track Hammarsale EP which will be released August 4 on Transgressive Records.
