Limited tickets for Cape Town Bokani Dyer Solo show now available

There are limited tickets available for a Bokani Dyer Solo show at The Athletic Club & Social in Cape Town this August.

The intimate gig takes place on Wednesday August 17th and offers music devotees the opportunity to see this award-winning and critically acclaimed artist play solo. Dyer is known for his piano playing, which ranges from highly personal and contemplative to deeply expressive and communal.

Bokani has just come off a successful run of European shows with his Trio – which features Romy Brauteseth and Sphelelo Mazibuko – including a brilliantly received performance at the North Sea Jazz Festival in Rotterdam. Dyer says he was “grateful to have the good fortune of playing with such generous people – on and off stage” during his recent tour and shared a snippet of ‘Mutapa’ from the African Piano Suite from the trio’s Darmstadt show on social media.

This year also saw the release of Radio Sechaba, a15-track album has the makings of one of 2022’s best releases and continues Dyer’s creative journey of making rich and immersive music that provides an intimate view into South Africa’s multifaceted people. Radio Sechaba followed his 2020 solo record – the stylistically diverse Kelenosi which showcased Dyer’s ease and ability to deploy his gifted piano playing in different musical terrains.
