The Joy Release New Single “Omunye”

The Joy return with their latest single, “Omunye”, out Friday, 7 August.

The new release follows “Precious”, which arrived in June. Together, the two singles mark an exciting period of growth for the South African vocal group.

“Omunye” brings The Joy’s signature Zulu harmonies into the contemporary Afropop landscape. The track continues their exploration of new sounds while keeping their rich vocal arrangements at the centre.

The release also reflects the group’s growing reach across global music. In recent years, The Joy have worked with artists from across the musical spectrum. Their collaborations include The Blessed Madonna and Doja Cat, while their live performances have taken them to major stages around the world.

Their sound continues to move beyond the boundaries of a cappella. Instead, The Joy are building a space where their Zulu musical roots meet contemporary global sounds.

The release comes ahead of an exciting run of international performances. In November, The Joy will return to London’s Barbican Centre as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival. The show follows their sold-out performance at the venue in 2024.

They will also perform at Strange Brew in Bristol on 23 November and Band on the Wall in Manchester on 25 November.
