Bokani Dyer Debuts Bheki Mseleku Tribute Tour at Montreux Jazz Festival

Following a landmark debut of Home at Last: A Bheki Mseleku Tribute at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Franschoek, Bokani Dyer and Gareth Lockrane usher in a new chapter in honouring the late jazz legend.

Bringing previously unrecorded compositions to the stage, the project honours Mseleku’s legacy through a carefully curated body of work first transcribed by Gareth Lockrane during his time working with the late musician.

They were joined on stage by Benjamin Jephta and Kesivan Naidoo — the latter having performed with Mseleku himself — adding depth and historical resonance to the performance.

Home at Last: A Bheki Mseleku Tribute will also be presented in South Africa, offering audiences the opportunity to experience this body of work live:

28 March — Montreux Jazz Festival, Franschhoek
2 April — Keorapetse William Kgositsile Theatre, Johannesburg
4 April — The Chairman, Durban
