Rhythmic yet deeply sentimental, Zama draws inspiration from Charles Bradley’s “Why Is It So Hard to Make It in America” — a song Bongeziwe has long connected with. Reflecting on his own journey, he shares: “I wrote about my life and how I have been everywhere in the pursuit of success myself, and how till today it’s still very much a struggle.”
Accompanying the release is an emotionally charged vignette that sees Bongeziwe standing against relentless waves and rising tides as a striking metaphor for the challenges he has faced and the resilience that continues to carry him forward.
