“Bulldozer”, the storming collaboration between DJ Lag and UK MC Novelist has been tapped to soundtrack a new Instagram ad for Khalifa Kush and Dr Dabber.
“There’s places people only dream of going.I’ve been there,” says Wiz Khalifa in the ad. Khalifa is the founder of Khalifa Kush which is partnering with vaporizer brand, Dr. Dabber in what the latter described as their biggest collaboration yet.
Since its release in May, “Bulldozer” has been singled out as a brilliant coming together of gqom and grim. In a review, Resident Advisor described “Bulldozer,” “is the latest chapter in this fertile club cultural exchange”.
“Stylistically, it’s a simple proposition, with Novelist laying down punchy, urgent bars over a suitably angsty gqom beat,” wrote reviewer Michael Lawson. “”Big Novelist comin’ like a bulldozer / I got the enemy confessin’ that it’s all over,” he chants, his quickfire flow gliding across syncopated percussion. But this unfussy formula only accentuates the understated potency of “Bulldozer,” a track that could easily be deployed as an electrifying club weapon in the right hands.”
