DJ Lag is continuing his global gqom takeover with a line-up of not-to-be-missed live shows in Europe this July

The artist touches down just in time for the European summer holiday when clubs, festivals and shows are on full blast. He starts with a performance on July 1st at Down The Rabbit Hole in Amsterdam, before playing dates in:

2 July – Afronation – Portimão

9 July – Boiler Room – Paris

6 August – Plages Electroniques – Cannes

7 August – Dekmantel – Amsterdam

4 September – Sounds Like Trouble (Ziongate) – Amsterdam

11 September – Peacock Society – Paris

Recently mixmag added Meeting With The King to its best of the year so far list. The leading electronic music magazine said: “Kings are made not born, and DJ Lag has been putting in the work for more than decade to rightfully take up the title as the foremost figure in the dark and atmospheric genre of gqom. On his debut album, he takes his artistry even further, channelling influence from across South Africa’s rich dance music scene, working in styles such as amapiano, Afro house and Afrotech to create his biggest, most emotionally-stirring and impactful release yet.”

High and deserved praise indeed and if you haven’t already listened to the album, head over to your favourite streaming platform NOW!
