Crossing Cape Town’s divide with Black Major Selects at Muse All Weekend Festival

The first Muse All Weekend Festival provided the perfect platform to launch Black Major Selects, our brand new events and programming division.

Held at Colorbox Studios in Cape Town’s Paarden Eiland, the festival was created to draw the city’s diverse music and audiences together – and it was a pleasure to work with WaxOn, We House Sundays and Nomadiq to turn that vision into a reality.

A musically rich line-up unfolded over three days, spanning Folk, Experimental Electronic, Afro Pop, House, Techno and more. We were represented by Alice Phoebe Lou, Card On Spokes, Christian Tiger School, DJ Lag, Fever Trails and John Wizards – and were lucky enough to have Popsicle Studios’ Ryk Otto capturing the weekend’s all-round amazingness.

“It was very promising to see what happened at the Muse All Weekend Festival,” said Aaron Peters. “At a time when venues are scarce and there is uncertainty about the scene, Muse proved that Cape Town is alive and kicking. Both the music and audience revealed the diversity that the festival promised and we’d like to thank Paul, Cassiem, Leighton, David, Lisa, Quintin and everyone else involved in making this amazing event happen. Thanks as well to our artists. You made us damn proud.”

Thank you Ryk Otto and Popsicle for the great images!
