Bokani Dyer’s U.S. Trio Tour is officially underway, with the acclaimed pianist and composer already bringing his latest work to audiences across New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and Massachusetts.
The tour opened on 16 June with a special Youth Day performance at Dizzy’s in New York City. From there, Dyer and his trio have continued their run through a series of intimate jazz venues and listening rooms, introducing audiences to new material while revisiting music from across his celebrated catalogue.
Joined by longtime collaborators Lumanyano Mzi and Tim Norton, the trio continues to build on the chemistry that first earned critical acclaim on Neo Native, the award-winning album that received the South African Music Award for Best Jazz Album. The current tour also offers audiences an early glimpse into new music as the trio works towards its next body of work.
With several performances already completed, the tour now heads into its final stretch, with dates remaining in Austin, Minneapolis, Baltimore, and Philadelphia.
