South African artists creating inventive and current global music are invited to apply to be part of BABEL MUSIC XP, a professional trade fair and festival taking place in the French city of Marseille from 25-27 March 2021.
The open invitation comes as BABEL MUSIC XP continues to build bridges with the homegrown music industry through the appointment of Black Major’s Sevi Spanoudi as an ambassador for this exciting French music event.
“France is a really important springboard for South African artists launching an international career and it is an honour to actively help link our artists to BABEL MUSIC XP,” says Spanoudi.
BABEL MUSIC XP’s forum takes place over three days, giving 2000 professionals the opportunity to meet and network with key global actors from the industry including programmers, companies, artists, institutions, agents and the media.
The event’s three-night music festival will see Marseille’s Dock des Suds play host to 30 groups, selected by BABEL MUSIC XP’s independent jury. This exciting and vibrant festival will draw professionals and the public through a rich, innovative programme of concerts at the cutting edge of world music.
Applications for the BABEL MUSIC XP music festival are open until August 8th, with details on how to apply available on babelmusicxp.com.
BABEL MUSIC XP has emerged out of the legacy of Babel Med Music which was held for 14 years in Marseille. At the crossroads of finance, culture and innovation, the internationally-focused BABEL MUSIC XP event offers a new experience aimed at championing a cultural relaunch and promoting solidarity for everyone in the music industry in all its diverse forms.
