The Joy continue to attract top production talent with their gorgeous harmonies and melodies that effortlessly captivate listeners.
The latest song to emerge from this is “Hlala Nami” which sees Ntokozo Magcaba, Melokuhle Mkhungo, Sanele Ngcobo, Phelelani Sithole and Sandile Sphelele Hlophe work with Nigerian producer Shizzi on a new single, “Hlala Nami”.
In November last year, when The Joy was in L.A., the group went into the studio with Shizzi, best known for his work with Davido. They came out with “Hlala Nami” which foregrounds The Joy’s vocals against a gentle, layered sonic bed.
The Joy shared a snippet of the song on TikTok and the response from music lovers was such that the full track was quickly released on May 29th. It has already become one of the most streamed songs from the young group from Hammarsdale, a township outside Durban.
