“Balotelli” is the hot new single to come from a collaboration between South Africa’s Sho Madjozi and Robot Boii, and the UK’s Sneakbo.
The trio have combined with the producer and DJ combination of Tashinga, CTT Beats and Matthew Otis for a track that has all the makings of a huge Amapiano anthem. “Balotelli” has already secured airplay with BBC Radio 1 in the UK and top South African stations, with the anticipation for the drop building everyday.
With its super catchy “Why Always Me Balotelli”, the song relates back to Italian-Ghanaian football player Mario Balotelli’s celebration and saying “Why wlays me?”, which became a famous football viral meme.
“Balotelli” came together after a session between CTT Beats lead Mark Insley and Tashinga when experimenting with samples and ideas. Sneakbo, who has amassed 100 million plus streams over the last 10 years, had dropped a verse in a session with CTT Beats in the UK. From there the beat was remixed by Tashinga and Matthew Otis before the big guns Sho Madjozi and Robot Boii became involved in the project to make the hit.
