Sha Sha’s I’M Alive named one of Billboard’s 25 Best Dance Albums of 2022

Billboard has included Sha Sha’s I’M Alive in its 25 Best Dance Albums of 2022: Staff Picks, calling it nothing less than a “signature record” of the kind that can “propel an artist’s career”. “Even those unfamiliar with the South African house subgenre Amapiano will be allured from the first beat,” says the internationally renowned publication.

The acknowledgement by one of the world’s leading music publications is a great way to end the year for Sha Sha who released the long-anticipated I’M Alive in September. Earlier in the year, I’M Alive was selected by NME for the NME Radar: Breakout feature. “… The pioneering African artist’s boundless and free-flowing debut album proves that she possesses a riveting star quality,” said the UK publication.

The release of I’M Alive this year – and the critical acclaim it received – is yet another step in Sha Sha’s amazing career. In 2020 she was the winner of a major global award, taking home the BET Viewers’ Choice Best New International Act – and making history as the first Zimbabwean artist to do so in the show’s two decades of existence. In extending the borders of R&B with the singular stylings of Amapiano, I’M Alive has found its way into the hearts of music fans across the world and Sha Sha is poised for a breakout 2023.
