We’re still buzzing from this past weekend’s takeover of the beautiful Réunion Island!
Morena Leraba was part of IOMMa (Indian Ocean Music Market), a four-day event that is the first music industry platform in the Indian Ocean area, dedicated to connecting the Réunionese and Indian Ocean music scenes to the international market.
Also bringing their musical fire to the island with amazing performances at the Sakifo Musik Festival were Bongeziwe Mabandla, BCUC and Bokani Dyer’s Radio Sechaba. Sakifo Musik Festival is the most popular festival in the Indian Ocean and, since 2004, Sakifo (“What is needed” in Creole) has drawn tens of thousands of music fans to its line-up of diverse music including pop, electro, reggae, rock, roots and Séga and Maloya, the musical DNA of this special island that always opens its arms to Black Major’s artists.
