This year, the Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts 2018/2019 will open up its stage to a string of artists who will be performing at Kirstenbosch for the first time – one of which is Tresor; winner for the Best Pop Album in 2016 and 2018 at the SAMAs. As if this isn’t enough to be excited about, Beatenberg band-leader Matthew Field will be joining him on stage, less than 2 weeks after the band’s return with Camera, the first single of the new album 12 Views of Beatenberg, set for release this December. In light of their last 3 collaborative tracks, and their latest release together, entitled Aphrodite, this one will be a shame to miss!
Matthew adds that “I am grateful to have been able to work with Tresor again; I’ve learned a lot from him and it’s always a pleasure to hang out and make music together. This song [Aphrodite] has been ‘n the works for a while and I’m very fond of it. I remember driving on the highway at night after a session listening to the rough version and feeling a particular way. I looked forward then to when other people would get to hear it – now that’s happening and I’m very glad.”
