Parra for Cuva taps Bongeziwe Mabandla for new album

German electronic producer and DJ, Parra for Cuva, has worked with Bongeziwe Mabandla
on his newly released album, Juno.
The award-winning and critically acclaimed South African artist features alongside some
brilliant electronic grooves – courtesy of Cologne-based artist Moglii – on “Kamara”. The
production places Bongeziwe’s otherworldly vocals in a lush sonic landscape on one of the
13-track album’s standout songs.
Parra for Cuva took nearly two years to finish his fourth full-length album – beginning in
2019 and continuing right into the heart of the pandemic.
Known as an artist who brought a truly original sound to electronic music by mixing
emotional dance floor experimentations with acoustic and ethnic soundscapes, Juno sees
Nicolas Demuth take this global interaction further with the participation of seven musicians
from around the world, many of whom he met online and worked with remotely.
For Parra for Cuva, music-making isn’t about converging ideologies and world views: rather
Juno’s multi- cultural collaborations were forged solely on the basis of a mutual love of
music – something Bongeziwe undoubtedly shares.
